Natural Remedies for Seasonal Allergy Relief – Part II

If you haven’t read part 1 to this article, “Preparing for Allergy Season” shared in our March newsletter, you can read it here.

Spring allergy season is close upon us. You’ve perhaps started some of the preventative measures mentioned in part 1 of this article  in our March newsletter.  If you didn’t catch that, I highly recommend reading that article first.

Perhaps you didn’t start the preventative remedies as soon as you wanted to, or perhaps you haven’t had a chance to start at all. That’s OK! It’s never too late to  begin. I do usually recommend starting the preventative measures 2-3 months before allergy season hits, but starting the preventative measures now will still offer some relief.

Luckily there are a number of herbs and supplements that actually help with the actual acute allergy symptoms, which is what we’ll be covering here.

Herbs to take for acute allergy symptoms:

My “Top 3” essentials

Nettle, quercetin, butterbur (or an herbal formula listed below)

Other Sinus Herbs

Goldenrod, osha, hyssop, goldenseal, eyebright

Other Lung Herbs

Mullein, elecampane, osha

Formulas are a great way to cover “all the bases.” These are some of my favorite herbal allergy relief formulas, which you can find at The Local Grocer:

Urban Moonshine – Aller-Blast

Herbal Energetics – Aller-Free, Sinus-Aid, Bronchial Wellbeing – tinctures

Oregon’s Wild Harvest – Aller-Aid capsules

Herb Pharm – Calm Breathing tincture

Bluebonnet – JustBreathe

Gaia Herbs – Mighty Lungs capsules

I recommend pairing one of these formulas best suited to your individual symptoms with additional nettle and quercetin for optimum results.

I hope this information finds you some relief and helps you to address your seasonal allergies in a natural, health-promoting way!

As always, The Local Grocer Team is here to help you with your buying choices!

Happy Spring!
